Coax Install.....Please Help!

I am instlling the back Coax's that I have purchased for my gf. They were used and are going into a 2001 Mitsu Montero Sport.

The problem I am having is when I do run the speaker wires to the speaker nothing happens. And after messing with it for a while the speaker will play for maybe 30sec-3min and then all of a sudden cut out.

My question is are they blown? or what do I need to do fix this. It almost seems as if that door isnt getting any power all of a sudden and I am clueless.

swapping coax speakers: unplug old speaker, put speaker wire in new speaker.

I did that with the speaker that was in there b4 and there was no sound. I am thinking that the wire I was using was maybe too small??

sounds like u fired your amp its going in and out of protect

If you swapped out the speakers with a different pair, and you have the same problem, swap out the wires.

No amp going to these guys....

theres a amp somewere on the head unit aleast theres got to be something powering them

I gotcha...So the head unit may need to be replaced?

chances are you have a amp some wear in the car but check everthing before u change the hu but if you do go aftermarket you well be so much happier

Yea I understand that I am just trying to figure something out...I know she would be much happier with an after market, she just doesnt have much money. Thanks a lot and I really appreciate the help dbman

check your wires for your speakers on your H.u.

Is there anyway I can look to make sure the speakers arent blown? I mean the cone and surround all look clean, anything else I should check?
