Clueless and Bored, this should be fun

Hey y'all, my name is Christian and I am a newb from Ohio. I bought a 2000 Dodge Dakota and am using it to learn about vehicles before I try to build a Factory Five Mk 4 (cause lets face it, a '69 Cobra would be way too expensive to be reasonable for my beer budget and wine taste). The end goal is to bring this truck from the brink of the scrapyard to being a show truck for when I go to concerts. Mechanically I can handle my own to an extent, however car speakers are a foreign thing to me which brings me here. I wanna learn what I can and eventually rebuild the stereo so that it connects to the bed, but can be turned off with a flick of a switch. Look forward to talking with y'all!

You want speakers in the bed of the truck that you can turn on and off from inside the truck? I just want to make sure I'm following what you're saying.
If yes, then it's actually rather easy. You just wire up a switch inside the truck (you can find automotive switches all day on Amazon and most off road truck websites) and have the output wire from the switch be the amplifiers remote wire. (The amplifier powering the bed speakers). Then, unless you flip that switch and give power to that remote wire, the amplifier shouldn't even power on.
There are probably other ways to accomplish this, but that's how I would do it

That sounds like the exact goal I want, basically I want it that way so that if I got to worry about the local authorities not liking loud noises, I can flip a switch and kill the bed. I'm also doing something similar to the exhaust but I think I got that. Biggest concerns are the sound system and figuring out how to do a reverse Carolina squat (I want the back higher than stock but the whole thing will be lifted too, within reason due to local laws). Thank you for the advice!
