Check this system out

If he's really interested in SQ, he's going to be spending lots of time with Velcro playing around with tweeter and midrange positioning, and he might be getting into fiberglassing depending on how serious he gets...also, I wouldn't recommend pre-built component sets, but use individual drivers instead, and actively bi-amp.

Also not sure if anyone recommended sound deadening already, but plan on at least a roll of it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

$1000 brand new is doable, but it'll take a good investment in time to get everything where it should be.

Yeah Jim. I'm not sure if he means SQ as in a decent sound or SQ like what I would assume.

Typically when installing a tweeter near the mid. Would you install it on axis? I know some aren't happy with mid-bass on axis?

OP some component systems are designed so that they should have the tweeters installed within a certain distance from the midbass. But thre are some manufacturers that account for this in their passive xovers.

Most of the time, I'd prefer the midrange on axis more than the midbass //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif If it's simply a 2-way, I'd try to position the tweets as best as possible.
