He has a turbo, not a super charger. Its not a real Saleen. He even calls it a super charger. I doubt the guy knows anything about cars...

I knew it looked like a turbo...I wasn't sure about older Saleens....I know it didn't look like the superchargers they use on newer Saleens....

mmmm yes that its a supercharger, you can tell right off the bat that it is belt driven, turbos are run off of exhaust gas.

the top pic (red car) is a pic of a roots type blower, the one he has in his car is call a citrifical supercharger

I don't know much about turbos and superchargers....my Merkur XR4ti I had back in th' day had a turbo....But the red car looks like the Saleen Superchargers I have seen....The yellow one doesn't....just a lot of Saleen stickers under th' hood...looks like a wannabe...My Saleen doesn't have Saleen stickers pasted all under the hood...but again that guy may beleive stickers add HP....

After looking at those pictures, I thought you are not supposed to mount amps upside down. For $10,000 I would hope a shop would do it right.

also it is possible for it to be a true saleen since only the cobra's used the roots type blower, and even then they didnt a blower in 99.

saleen didnt use a roots type blower, the used a cintrifical supercharger, i believe it was made by paxton.

they might be using a roots type for the newer ones but back then i know they didnt.

ditto... turbos have a double clamshell... one turbine is spun by the exhaust and causes the other to **** air... on that you've only got one clamshell meaning its gotta be spun by the belt...

also... just thought about it... it would be hell mounting a turbo there without some CRAZY exhaust mani work...

you looked up on the internet for the price ? he got em at a shop which usually = more. then there is everything else in the system = money then there is the labor for a custom install like that = a lot of money.
