Comps or Coaxials for 1999 Ford Crown Victoria ?

Im trying to decide on either a component set or a coaxial set for my 99 Crown Victoria. I know the front speakers are 6x8 and so are the rears according to crutchfield and cardomain but im not sure yet which component set whould work well in this car. If you guys have any good suggestions then please let me know.

So far i have installed a Pioneer Premier DEH-P780MP and thats it.

I have 2 JL 12w3v3's in a sealed enclosure for the trunk along with a JL 500/1 amp for them.

I have a ppi a600.2 2 channel amp for the comps at 150 x 2 @ 4 ohm

4 gauge knukonceptz Installation Kit.

Should i keep the rearfill or not ? Anyone that has installed or knows anything about this car give me a heads up. Thanks

Just search around. Look for some decent 6.5 comps. You can always make some simple mods to fit them into the 6*8 slots.

well let me help ya out a bit. I have a Lincoln so I am running the same size. It really depends on how much money you want to spend. I personally think the JBL 5x7 components or the Alpine R 5x7 are great choices if you don't want to spend a whole lot. MB quart 5x7 reference components would be next up if you are willing to spend the extra money on them.

if you are going to use that amp for all 4 speakers.. keep in mind the JBL are 2ohm speakers.

Get round speakers, do not buy 5*7 comps. Adapter plates are easy to come by.

Thanks guys, I have 2 sets right now that i could use. I have a CDT HD 62 set and a A/D/S/ 346cs set available.

IM just not sure where i could mount the tweeter. What do you think ?

You could mount them in the pillars, or possibly in the door. Use some velcro, or double sided tape, and put the tweeter in different locations to decide which location sounds the best to you.
