Yep, should have been my first clue lol ! Well if anyone has one spare I would buy it and make a set ? But at that price it's still not bad buying two sets
Started on repairing my alts that I smoked. I ordered some Transpo voltage regulators (I think thats all that got damaged) I also will be adding ground posts to the rear cases. To remove the rear cases a big azz soldering iron is needed and I found a 400 watt one on Ebay used and made a low ball offer and got it for 30 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Also picked up a 500 amp load tester so I can test them when I get done with repairs and also comes in handy checking battery's.and I got it on sale at the Harbor Freights on sale for 40 bucks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Nah It costs more in shipping than the regulators cost and I have rebuilt alts many times over the years and am interested in sourcing the parts and upgrading and see what I can come up with for higher amperage.

I c. Your alt looks very identical to my Tahoe one. Wonder what I can do to upgrade internal parts for higher output or just find another that already has a higher output?
Got some pictures from Jonathan at CES and video of my two new hairpin 300 alts doing close to 310 amps max and close to 200 amps at idle on each and should really boost my voltage ! With the cheaper B&R 250 amp alts and three juice box group 31 s and 4 banks of ultra caps I am sitting around 14.4 driving and stays there until I get 3/4 volume in a bass heavy song and it will drop to mid to low 13s. I went with 300 amp alts because I will be changing to a limitless 60 ah lithium next and they recommended not going above 600 amps of alt. Should be here wed, can’t wait to get them installed and 0 gauge grounds ran to each and swap a 250 amp to stock location to run the truck.
Got a delivery from FedEx and it was my two new 300 amp hairpin alts from CES and new belt tensioner and a new belt . They look great ! Can’t wait to get them on tomorrow and see how over 600 amps of charging amps does with my 4 banks of caps ?next step limitless lithium 60ah or 80 ah if I can fit it in my tool box.
Got them installed tonight after work and voltage looks good at 15v I didn’t road test it but I will tomorrow and see how much drop I am getting but I bet not much.
Think I might as well get one more and replace my stocker and give me over 900 amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif See how they work out . Jonathan at CES was super cool to deal with and always quick to answer any questions and has great customer service and a pretty solid warranty also.
I am pretty stoked with new hairpins . Went out this morning and everything cold and was charging at 15 , 15.1 and after warmed up 14.8 to 15 and Full tilt on music never saw 13s ! Lowest I saw was a 14.2 that’s fantastic! I know it will be a little lower once it’s hot and hot outside but I think that’s pretty good ! I am going to swap a 270 on to stock location and let it charge stereo too and see if that makes any difference and then I will order third hairpin 300 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
