carpc build log

That thing has been hit with rage and 40-grit paper. The primer is just to help show me where I need to pay some more attention. I know it's nowhere ready for paint.

The carpc will consist of the following:

M1000CL motherboard

512mb OCZ DDR ram

WD80gb notebook hard drive

OPUS 120w smart psu

HDA x-Plosion sound card

Lilliput 619 touchscreen

bluetooth and wifi enabled

vag-com for vehicle diagnostics

and maybe some other stuff

looks like you're doing a good job so far. If you need any help pm me or megalomaniac, we both have experience doing this type of thing.

I actually have almost the same setup as you. 7'' lilliput vga touchscreen, M1000 mobo, 512 ram, 150 opus psu, only I have a 250GB 3.5'' hdd and a 150w

Also I recommend adding a decent sound and a cheap video card to that machine. The onboard sound will suffice, but a nice audigy card will be so much better, and it will enable you to use all kinds of great tuning software that you can download. Also the video card I recommend because the M1000's onboard video can lag if you play really high quality videos. For my youtube and google video rips it's fine, but I tried to play a super high quality dvd rip and it lagged badly.

I probably won't be playing any videos, and if I do it's just be youtube or maybe not-high quality rips.

Also, HDA cards > Audigy cards //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I'm sure you guys will like these pics for sure =)

There's a couple pinholes that need addressed - you just can't see 'cause the lighting sucks.

The box measures 10 3/8" long, 3-3.5" high, and 6.75 deep:

I'm obviously disappointed this isn't done yet but it will be this weekend, hopefully //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/banghead.gif.8606515f668c74f6de0281deb475b6fd.gif

Looks nice so far, looking forward to seeing it done.

I still recommend looking into a video card, or at least plan on leaving room for one in case you decide to get one. I have a lot of you-tube and google video rips and they lag a tiny little bit, usually it's just a little chop every 20 seconds or so, nothing major, but it is still there. When I watched a high quality Xvid DVD rip the video would literally lag 15-20 seconds behind the audio at times before it stopped completely to catch up.

As for the sound card, go with whatever you want, I just recommended Creative Audigy since they are supported by every single piece of tuning and equalizing software available. The kX drivers in particular have a pretty small list of supported cards.
