car speaker question?

You wont get any decent sound out of the stock location.. Take the plunge and cut the holes but plan it and get some nice grills so it can look halfway decent(and stock).. just get some good fronts and a good 150x2 watts on em and youll be good. good?

lol ya thats the thing im in canada and everything i have ever ordered across the border takes 3 weeks to a month. so are focals any good? also do i want to put coaxials in the front and compenents in the back or otherway around? think about going to look at some today
Yes, Focals are rated highly around here, though I've never heard them myself.

You want to focus your time and money on the fronts. The rear 6X9's aught to be off head unit power and there are lots of good ones out there - just coaxials is good enough. Ideally you don't want to even hear them from the front seat, the front speakers should dominate.

The thing is the dash mounting usually can't be sealed very well so the installation has limits. I don't know your particular car though. That's why I suggested mounting in the doors. If you can't seal the speaker cavity your front midbass will be poor.

As far as components, I wouldn't waste the money unless you can get a good tight install on the woofers first.

Your situation is unfortunately typical. The dash speakers can't be sealed, so you get cancellation from the back wave under the dash. And the window crank is right where door speakers would go. Bummer.

Personally, I'd probably just get good coaxials front and rear and call it a day. CDT makes nice 6X9's and I really like the Boston Acoustics SE's for 4X6's. I doubt you'll be able to fit 5.25's on an adapter in there... GM didn't leave much room.

well here is what i got, for the front i got focal pc100 4 inch coaxials and focal polyglass cvx 6x9s coaxials for the back, i got the rear ones running off a kenwood 350 watt 2 ch amp that my buddy had laying around. i got both sets of speakers for $475.00 which i think is a pretty good deal after looking on the net and got them about 100 buclks cheaper then online and they come with 3 year warrenty. and these things sound amazing to be honest so crisp and clean not a hint of distorsion. i cant wait to get a better amp and get the pc100 running on more power and a cleaner signal then just the 20 rms from the head unit i would also like to get them in more of a sealed encloser in the store the were in boxes and sounded even better. maybe in the future i might try and get some 5.25 compenets in the doors. cant wait till my lvl 3s come in and my system is complete
