i want to get some speakers for my car but have no idea what im looking for. wondering if you guys could tell me what i need and some good quality ones to buy.

We need specifics, what are you looking for really bassy mids, or good sound quality mids? whats the vehicle, are you replacing all the speakers? Are you going to be running an amp for them?

ya im replacing all 4 car speaker and im going to run them off an amp. i want good sound quality but a little more bass never hurt. this is going into my 1990 chevy lumina

do not have an amp yet for the car speakers. have 2 dc lvl 3s on the way for subs, i was thinking of spending maybe 400-500 on the speakers

either one of those in the front would be about the best for your money if you want sq and great midbass from a company that has been dominating sq comps for 5 years now.

According to Crutchfield's vehicle selector you have 4x6" speakers in the dash and 6x9's in the rear, right?

This is what was stock in my car also, nothing some adaptors and a hole saw can't fix.

so what if i go with 6x9s in the back and is there a good 4 inch speaker i could use for the front, orangecavi could u give some pictures as to how u did ur front dash with 6.5s?

Are you willing to cut holes in your door panels and do a custom install? My 85 Olds came with 3.5's in the dash and I elected to add 5.25's in the doors and it came out really sweet.

i didnt really want to cut any holes, i really just want something decent that will fit the dash where the stock speakers are. so some 4 inch speakers or 4x6 speakers. im going to go with 6x9s or 6.5s in the rear. what are some of ur guys opinons on Focal? they sell them at one of the local car audio shops, i know i might pay a bit more but i am tired off waiting a month to get something when ordered online.

Evrything I have ordered from sonic or amazon I have gotten very quickly of course you are in Canada. I can post some pictures after work.

lol ya thats the thing im in canada and everything i have ever ordered across the border takes 3 weeks to a month. so are focals any good? also do i want to put coaxials in the front and compenents in the back or otherway around? think about going to look at some today
