car setup help

I just purchased 2 JL Audio 500/1 v2 500W RMS, Slash Version 2 Series Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier (500/1v2) and 2 JL Audio 10W7-3 10" 1500 Watts W7 Single 3 ohm Car Subwoofers and was wondering what would be a sufficent head unit for this setup. I am also using my stock door speakers and tweeters. I was also wondering if it is nececessary to buy a capacitor and if so any suggestions. I dont know that much about car audio so any post will help. Sorry for the lack of description of my set up and thanx for the help.

Congratulations on buying the most overpriced equipment on earth. Please upgrade & amplify your door speakers and refrain from purchasing a capacitor...

You can never go wrong with Alpine, Eclipse, or Pioneer headunits. Look into the higher end versions tho. As in more expensive. In some cases, the more expensive the better. But in your case with JL Audio, It does not. JL is WAAAAAY over priced. You could have gotten the same sound out of any number of other companys for half the price of what you paid. As for headunits....

Alpine 9885, Eclipse CD5000 and up, Pioneer 880, etc...

http://www.woofersetc.com is a great place to look for headunits.

And no, You dont need a cap. If you're worried about voltage drop, just do the Big 3. You can find the thread stickied in the Wiring section.
