Car Contracts..

Would anyone know what law you would be breaking in dealing with breaking an automotive contract? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Well see.. It goes a little somthing like this.. I had found a car and decided to get it checked out before purchasing it. So the seller and I went and it turned out to need a new water pump.. no biggie. So we decided to have me pay half of it then and the other half when the water pump got fixed. We signed a agreement that says I paid that and he would sell me the car after the work as done and I gave him the other half of the money. But now he says that he doesn't want to sell it. He simply just wants to change his mind. And I think this is bogus. So whats do you think..?

breach of contract type, u guys have a legal binding kinda, u could take it to court if u really want it, but i dont know much about law, so better to consult w someone that knows. but if he backs out, n u dont mind, then he needs to give u 100% the money u gave him, u could qualify for some extra fees that he would have to pay u, but again lawyers can do a shitload of shit out of nothing

If you guys had it in writing i'd be ALOT easier to get your money back, or to go through the contract. Once there is an agreement on the price, stipulations, etc. the contract is made and if either party doesn't hold up their end it's a breach of contract.

Just call a law firm out of the phone book some of them offer free advice... well after that they will try real hard to make you sign up with them for the case... which may or may not be a bad thing........

But ya this is a breach of contract all right. Weather it be written or verbal. U r entitled to the car if you make the payment

If you dont already have the car in your possesion and he wants to refund the money already paid then I dont think I would even consider buying the car if I had to take him to court or go get a lawyer. If he wants to keep it that bad and by some way you force him to sell it to you then he may very well get upset and sabetoge somthing on the car just out of meaness and you may not notice it until you have had it for a month. I would just let it go. I dought there is much of a case without paying out the *** for it. BTW what kind of car is it and how much?
