Car audio school, is it worth it?

Alright, I've searched around here and read about you who have gone to Mobile Dynamics or some other instalation school. I am a freshman in college, and I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. I'm looking into this myself. I am a bit skeptical though, it seems like a pretty good deal at first. But, I can't help but think if it would pay off. I'm pretty sure I would not want to do this for the rest of my life, unless I ended up starting my own business. But, maybe this would be a good thing to do so I could get a decent job while I'm in college. What have your experiences been? Also, I can't seem to find out how much it costs. Mobile Dynamics just talks about how it can help you pay for it.

Thanks in advance,

Lance

Well, I don't want to jump into this to quickly. I mean how much is it to go to school, I am going to make that back when/if I get a job and then some? I don't need to get myself in a hole...

i have talked to that school. it was 5000 something. closer to 5,300 i think. they have a spot on that site that askes if you want a brochure. fill out the info and they well call you. if you have credit they well make payment plans for you. i think they were around 100-150 a month. as far as is it worth it? idk. they teach you alot of cool stuff if you check all the courses. i might go. but i am thinking it would only be worth it if they teach you sound staging and imaging and cool tricks and tips. i mean it doesn't seem like you'd learn that much in a 2 month class. but hours are from like 9 to 5 so they are long. but then again they have a lunchroom with pool and such things. so i wonder if that takes up half the day lol. plus if your not real local then you have to account for living expencies. best option is to give them the info and they well call. and then talk to them about it

that 5000 could only be like 150 though. they guy said something like fiftey-two nintey-five. making it seem like $52.95 but i think it is the 5000 because they are alot of hands on things and material cost would be alot. plus they said a 100 dollar entrance fee or something

mobild dynamics does not teach enough real world car tips and tricks, its a lotta book work. no hands on in the car at all. i would know i went there,.

the dei snakepit, teaches more hands on. (which is what you need) also have split courses that you can choose from. example, get your mecp cert, then take a class in fiberglassin. etc.

as for cost. well its gona be expensive either way. but the things they can hook you up with, are worth it.

they also help you find jobs. can get you discounts on products. hook you up with audio companys.

mobile dynamics grads, can get jobs at MTX, etc. Rockford (companys local in AZ)
