Which ones should I absolutely stay away from?

Anyone have any info on Etronics.com HookedOnTronics.com and AllAudioExpo.com?

Thinking of ordering the Alpine Type R SWR1242D subwoofers from either Etronics.com or HookedOnTronics.com and I will be ordering a Lanzar OPTI2000D monoblock amplifer from either HookedOnTronics.com or AllAudioExpo.com so a lowdown on these shops would help alot in my decisions.

BTW,I heard that the Type R's are underated...does this mean they'll take more than 500w RMS daily?

I was originally going to buy two 12" Audiopipe Eyecandy TXX-AP12BL subwoofers rated 800w RMS per sub with a 96db efficiency!....

But everyone tells me the Type R's will blow the Eyecandys away.

they could probably take at least 1000 each daily with the gains set correctly and a good box.

The lanzar OPTI200D is capable of pumping out 1600+w RMS x 1 channel at 1 ohm at 14.4 volts so what size ported box would you recommend to use while sending 800-850w RMS per sub.

4.0 cubic foot box,what tuning frequency,30Hz or 45Hz??

4 cubes should be a good size but you might be told to go bigger. whatever works for you. definately tune between 30-39hz any higher will probably too high.

Like how much bigger of a ported box?

4.5 cubic feet,5.0 cubic feet.....6 CUBIC FEET!!!!

I guess I am safest sticking around 35Hz for the port tuning eh?!

lower tuning is better... and 4,5,6 cubes is nothin... my IDW's feel a little claustraphobic in 8cubes (sealed)...

How big of a ported box can fit in the trunk of a 95 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera 4dr SL?

I beleive my trunk measures 3.5 feet from wheel well to wheel well and measures almost 5' from one side to the other in the back (by the latch) and about 3.5 in the front (under the rear deck) and measures about 18-20" tall.

Both me and my cousin just bought the r's from them, $125 shipped with a warranty. And their shipping is quicker than a crackhead running from the cops. I paid for them late night tuesday and I got mine by lunch time thursday, he got his lunch time on friday
