So is it pretty much just Viper/DEI now? Is it worth going to a brick and mortar store anymore or should I just swing by my local Best Buy for one?

Getting installed at store give you lifetime warranty. That's why i always have been bulletproof glass, tint and alarms installed at my local shop. Lifetime warranty on all.

I just got an excalibur 2 way system in my car. Like it. Had the features I need. Starter killer was a big must. Range is only 1500 feet thou.

I'll tell ya this! People too stupid to own car alarms ought NOT own car alarms! You know, the people who have car alarms "always going off" for no apparent reasons?

They too have power on and off button if you can figure out the software to make it work lol !

And I have this viper alarm, I have been really happy with it, I installed it with starter kill and rigged up another fail safe hidden switch and another shock sensor and a motion sensor. Good remote with good range.
