What equipment ?Just changed out my amp and immediately there's a smell from.. am I frying the amp or voice coil already or is it possible it's just because it's new
Is sub single voice coil ? 2 ohm or 4ohm ? also how did you set gains on new amp ?Audiopipe 1500 running a DD 612 also another audiopipe 2004 to my mids and highs
Well if you have it wired at 2 ohm amp says it does 900 w and sub says 600 w at least what found for it. You also know where the gain knob is turned to is dependent on head unit output voltage and you are trying to match max unclipped (not distorted - usually volume turned up aprox 3/4 of max volume ) then you turn up gain to match it. Kind of need a o scope or I have seen where people do it with a multi meter but not to accurate. I would guess you are probably sending sub a clipped or distorted signal and to much power to sub and cooking the voice coil //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif Maybe have a shop set gains if you are unable.DVC running at 2 ohm.. gain is set pretty low maybe 1/4-1/3 turn
If you plan on this as a hobby get a o scope or the SMD dd1, if its not just have a shop do it for you.Yea the o scope would be ideal.. I'll try backing down the gain a bit and see where that gets me in the mean time. Appreciate the help man
