Capacitor help!

Ok, sometimes when really low bass notes hit, my system will cut off and the sound will return a second later... Would a cap fix this? If not a cap, then what would? New battery, alternator, wires (using 4 ga.)?

jmpisgod-- do you have a detachable

face headunit. some times when the bass

hit real hard. the headunit shakes

and the face looses connection

for a breif moment.

if your voltage is dropping below 12 and your alternator and battery are good then a cap will fix this, but get your alternator bench tested to see what kind of voltage it is putting out, if it's fine, test your battery, if thats fine get the cap. What year is your car? Make? Model? I might be able to tell you if you gimme some info. My car is a year old and my sub will cut out if i am idling showing people what my type r can do, but my power cap fixed it.

Ok, i have a 94 honda civic, w/ a 70 AMp mitsubishi alternator, and im pretty sure its a stock battery (or very very old). My new set up is a rockford 700s amp bridged to 700x1 @ 4 ohms and a 12" solobaric L7... I thought about running a second battery, and dedicating the old battery to the accessories... I cannot replace the alternator as it may mess up my engines computer, so 70 amp is about as big as its gonna get...

It might be power, but before you spend more money, make sure your ground is PERFECT. BIG fat, SHORT wire going to a CLEAN ground. If thats all good then look at the power intake.

the cap wouldn't hurt, so get it any way, i would also reccomend a new battery.
