capable subs

so you think the dual xxx 15s will exceed in SPL wise vs all the other subs mentioned with 1200W rms to each sub? How much do xxx 15s go for? and whats the recommended volume for each driver?

I do not know which sub would give the most SPL, I was commenting only on the distortion output when comparing to the others. I suspect which would be loudest would depend much more on your install than which of these subs you chose, as they are all very capable drivers. Chosing subs based on what people tell you 'gets the loudest' isn't a very sound way to go about picking your subwoofers. If you want the loudest setup you can, you should be learning how to maximize your install, not on the net asking people which sub gets the loudest.

My comment on the xxx's output was simply that two xxx 15's set up correctly will give you more bass than you are capable of listening to on any regular basis. A pair of any of these 'super subs' should be capable of pounding harder than you'll want to listen to for any length of time. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif But at some point imo whether or not one sub or another can get a db louder is not nearly as important as which one sounds better. How often will you listen at absolute 100% volume so that db or two difference even matters? But the SQ differences will always be there. Go with the choice that makes most sense for other reasons like sound characteristics you prefer, price, and availability (back orders and pre-orders are rampant). Arguing over which sub is 'loudest' usually only gets you arguments.

I realized all the drivers listed are capable drivers. Which is my reason for listing them. And i realize its all in the install. I was asking because some drivers work better off a certain wattage. For example...1200W could be too much for a xxx sub on a daily basis but not enough wattage for a DP 15. but it could work perfect for a magnum 15 in sub. If that makes any sense. But thanks alot for helping me. By the way, what i said above was only a example.

So driver efficiency is the deciding factor? Their rated efficiencies dont men anything as they are tested at 1khz, a freq a subwoofer will never see. I haven't seen any efficiency tests for these subs at any realistic freq.

Yea, i agree. Now i just gotta decide to either go ahead and sell my dp and invest in a pair of Qs or go ahead and wait out for the second DP since its only Feb. Might try to find a temporary install until then. Thanks alot everyone for your replies

Dealing with small companies has its disadvantages, like waiting on parts. They do not build thousands of these things and stack them in warehouses before they release them to the public like a Sony, Pioneer of even RF. But, dealing with a small company also has its advantages: innovation, more personal help (usually), direct pricing, etc. Take the bad with the good, or go down to Best Buy and pick up some RF's. *shrug* And yes I know the feeling, I waited almost 3 months for my XXX's.
Im sure the owners/operators of these companies understand the simple concepts of business at least as well as you do plazman. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

hrmm.. guess i didnt look at it this way...

If you decide to get rid of it, let Brad or I know first //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Why dont you look into the http://www.audioque.com HD series 15"s...

You have to ask yourself, will you kick yourself for not gettin the DP? I mean how long have you been waiting for it, and what are you going to be using them for, competition or juss dd? Personally i would go with the xxx's, due to the outstanding sq, especially at high volumes. But its all on what you want and what you use them for. You can't go wrong with any of those woofers though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/peace.gif.2db28b618ed8d1964ebbe2f5021d2c39.gif

Mat i will definately let you or brad know first. its sad, i've had this sub for a pretty good while and actually heard it maybe 20-30min. Oh well.

Yea, i know i can be extremely picky. If im willing to fork out that kinda cash, then you are darn straight imma get what i like. But i do try not to be that picky though. I dont know exactly if i would kick myself if i did choose another sub, but i would wonder if i could have been "louder" if i had went the DP route. Far as my use for the subs, it will be mainly daily. with maybe a few local competiton use (no more than 3 a year) and of course competiton between buddies of mine.

Honestly man, for the money I wouldn't think twice about a pair of RE SX 15's. Each one would take 1/2 a Mojo easily. I have 2 RE HC 15's and they are amazing drivers. The SX 15 is supposed to be more SPL with the same SQ. My HC's have no problems taking a Mojo each at 1 ohm so I bet an SX can take 1/2 a mojo //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Mojo's are great amps, the RE HC's are great subs, so I am thinking that the SX can only be better.

If you have the money, I'm sure the XXX would sound better. As for SPL, I'm really not sure but something leads me to believe that the SX would do a bit better. Unless you are competiting I wouldn't worry about it though.

Good luck man,

Craig G

(2) 15" RE MT's
Ha, that was one of my first thoughts, but remember its going into a 96 Honda accord. Unless each 15 would work well in 4 cubes, then i dont think that route would work. Plus i dont know how would they compare with the other subs with 1200RMS...Now if i had the space, eletrical system, and another mojo...it would be on
