Cap or alternator

A 60 amp charging system doesn't leave many spare amps for accessories like stereo systems. Id hate knowing I couldn't turn up my stereo if I was running the AC without worrying about voltage issues etc, for example.

in summer it gets pretty **** sticky

since CAPs do nothing and alternators are the core of the electrical system, an Alternator would be my choice.

Good upgraded battery is a must as well.

CAPs are a waste of money.

Shaving them is the only way to go. Mine look best when the 5 o'clock shadow attachment is used. But **** its itchy.

ok so i guess ill start with a new battery cause the one i have is pretty beat, if that still dosnt solve the problem then i can go with another alt. now would i be able to buy one that pumps out more then 60 amp from autozone or something or do i have to go with an OP alt from a custom dealer? money is deff an object here so looking for the best cheap fix (if cheap is an option, i know sometimes its not)

Ive forgetten what your vehicle is now, and Im too lazy to go look... but yeah, places like Autozone are probably just gonna offer the stock replacement.

battery over a cap as a cap won't "help" unless everything else alt and battery wise is up to par. If you are going to replace your battery look into agm type batteries like kinetik

The alt upgrade is worthless without upgrading (or at least replacing) the battery. Even with an HO alt the lights are going to dim on transients.

I would also like to know what would be better for a 2001 Caddy Deville, cap, alt or battery, ive heard from alot of places that my best bet would be a cap, i told them i beg to differ and that i would be better off getting a battery, any thoughts?

edit: in a realistic note just get a nice battery and do the big 3 and if you still have problems then get a alternator

the alt in my car says 60 amps on it

I'm running 1600+ watts with a single battery

but i do get low voltage with AC on...

But amp voltage barely ever drops below 12v, even at idle
