Cap or alternator

Im trying to decide what my next move should be in improving my system, eighther to go with a cap or a high output alternator, every where i have looked so far everyone seems to lean more towards a HO alternator, just wanted to get some opinions and also, how would i go about getting a high output alternator for a decent price, i have a 1990 geo prizm (yeah a POS), as far as my system goes i have a rockford 450.4, and a kenwood 800watt 2 channel, powering 2x rockford 12" P1's, 2 6x9's, 2x 5.25", and 2x 4"

I'd say an alternator. I have the EXACT same car as you. 1992 Geo Prizm which only has a 60A alternator from the factory. I haven't started the build yet, but I'm kind of in the same shoes as you. I plan on around 2000rms though.

just do the big three

i was gonna say make sure your underhood battery is a godd/new one and put one in the back but if you alt is only 60 amps I would see about a bigger alt before straining it with more batteries

A 60 amp charging system doesn't leave many spare amps for accessories like stereo systems. Id hate knowing I couldn't turn up my stereo if I was running the AC without worrying about voltage issues etc, for example.
