Hey there, I was wondering if you guys can help me come up with a wiring Diagram for my system.

I will be running an

Alpine CDA-9835 HU

Adire Koda 6s powered by an Xtant 403A Amp

Seas 27TFFC06 Tweeters powered by an Xtant 302A Amp

Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 v.3 D4 powered by a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 1200.1

Any help would be greatly appreicated.

have you done the big 3 upgrade, highly recommended when running 2 amps... um run the 1/0 wire from the battery into a distro and run 4 awg from that to your 2 amps, nice choice on the subs, i have 2 of those babies.... what kind of box you goin to put that in?

I dont know what the big three upgrade is but as for now I plan on replacing all my battery cables with some of this neoprene coated 1/0 gauge welding cable. Then run that same cable to my 1200.1, then out of the 1200.1 to a distro block into two 4 gauge to my other two amps. Then the ground will be going through the cab right into the frame.

The box I am running will be a custom fibreglassed sealed enclosure just for one of those subs. Going to make the box to 1.52 cu/ft which I think is what ID recommends for this sub.

As for fuses, should I just add up what each amp recommends for a fuse (ex. both Xtants recommend a 60A amp for each, so you would put a 120A fuse for both of them) or should I put a seperate fuse to each amp? Or even use a circuit breaker? Any suggestions and comments are welcome.

Alright read the Big 3 Rules and I will have to check in my truck but I imagine the Electrical System is pretty HD stock as its a pretty HD truck. But even so Welding Cable isnt expensive so I will probably upgrade all those three to 1/0 Gauge Wire or larger.

Any comments on the rest of the system now?

First off how you where going to run the power wire to the amps is a horrible idea. You can seriously mess things up that way.

What you SHOULD do is run 1/0 to a fused distro. Put a main fuse near to the battery with a 200-250A fuse. At the distro, split off of the 1/0 into four 4ga lines. Fuse each at 80-100A ea. Remember that the fuses are just to protect the wire not the equipment. The equipment has fuses on it for that purpose. Run 4ga grounds from each amp to a common spot on the frame. DO NOT loop anything through other amps.

how are you gonna integreate the tweeters into the system? you got a koda set(tweetes, mids, and xovers)? or what? i dont think you wanna run an amp right to your tweeters like that...

George - I am not getting the Koda set, I am just getting the mids and then for a Tweeter I am getting a Seas 27TFFC06. I will be running an active x-over through my HU. How should I hook up these components to my amps?

Johnecon - The Xtant Amps that I have already say that you need to run a 60amp External Fuse for the power going to them. So for the amp that is right beside the battery should I just add up what each amps recommended fuse capacity is and run that one? And then run a seperate fuse after the distro block on the wire going to each fuse? Also will 4gauge wire be enough for my PG Tantrum 1200.1 powering my IDMAX 12? Also for my sub should I get the D2 or D4?

Thanks.

60 amps is what they take at full power. External fuses on the lines do not protect the equipment.. well thats not the sole purpose of them. They protect the wire from igniting. 4ga. can take a maximum load of 150A, so fuse anywhere underneither that and you will be fine. Don't fuse so low however that when ever your system starts to get loud that the fuses pop.

1/0 can take a maximum of 350A, fuse under that to protect that wire. And 4ga will be fine for the PG.

Get the D4 an run it at 2 ohms.

Alright Thanks guys.

So What I need to do is the big Three with 1/0 Gauge. Then run 1/0 gauge from the battery to a distro block having a fuse in between. Then run 4 gauge to each amp having a fuse on each power wire.

Ok now that I have power going to my amps. How should I hook them up to my speakers. The 302A will be running the Seas Tweeters. And the 403A will be running the mids. How do you hook them up and how should I hook each of them up so I can adjust the delay and such through my HU.

Also how should I hook up my Sub, you guys said to run my sub at 2 ohms so how would I hook that up to my sub amp? And how about hooking up the RCAs from the HU back to the sub? Sorry I am very new at this and if someone can give me as much info as possible it would be greatly appreciated.
