Can someone help me with my problem?

Hi guys,

Im having problems setting my gains for my mono amp and I dont know what Im doing wrong. I think Im doing everything I should be doing.

Car is turned on, test tone is at 50hz with the repeat function on, settings are flat, pos./neg. wires are disconnected, rcas are still plugged into the amp, te amp is connected to my "subwoofer out" rcas and the subwoofer is turned to "on" on the deck menu itself. When I touch the DMM to the terminals, Im not showing anything in the range Im should be seeing. Here is a pic of the DMM. Maybe I have it on the wrong setting. Which dial posotion should I have it turned to?



Im supposed to be getting aroung 68 volts or so

Anything else Im missing? I also have a 4-ch amp connected to my front and rear rcas of the deck, but I think that shouldnt matter

Its a mono amp running at 2 ohms.

Birthsheet says : 2237 RMS watta at 2 ohms

Calculates to 66.79 volts

but is there anything else Im missing? I assume you have to put "subwoofer" to "on" in the deck menu?

Are you sure it's 2200 watts at 2 ohms and not 1 ohm?

yeah, its a huge amp. at 1 ohm its 3445 rms watts

You're turning the volume up on the HU to 75% or wherever you will max out on volume? What reading are you getting? Do you have a link to the amp?

What measurement are you getting?

when I set the DMM 2 clicks to the right, I only get around 22 volts, and even by playing with the settings, the highest was maybe 28 volts.

Pioneer head unit volume is set at 47 out of 62

Why wouldnt the volts go up higher than that?

If you turn the knob to the left you will be measuring direct current.
