A screw-set amp thats already wired so i can see how they connected every wire.. i have 4 gauge wire and the power and ground barely fit in the holes on my hifonics amp.. so i just shoved the wire in there and screwed it down.. but eventually it slips out when i move the amp around.. i wanna know the neatest and best way to connect my wire.. i know spade terminals would work but do they make 4 gauge spade connectors with prongs like 5 mm apart? because otherwise the spade connectors wont fit in the hole.. or am i able to take the screw out... put the spade connector on top of the tiny plastic box containing the wire terminal and screw it down tight?

any help is greatly appreciated... cant stress enough how much this forum has helped me out. (no ****)

how far does the wire go into the hole? you want it to go in as far as it can, then screw that **** down tight and it should hold until the bass rattles it loose (i had that happen)

you wire jacket isn't settled when you put it on the amp.. thus after a while it exposes at the terminal. cut the current end off.

then remove just under 1/2" of jacket from the wire. then pull the wire from the jacket just a little bit. then shove it into the terminal and screw it down. the jacket should want to push itself back to normal and not want to expose itself after time.

does it matter if there are loose ends that hang outside of the terminal? i know it looks kinda sloppy but it should have no effect right? the hole is just a bit too small to fit 4 guage wire..

and what about for my remote wire? the remote wire is really small and the hole is pretty big.. thus making it hard to make sure the remote wire is touching the screw.. should i get a spade for that?

shave the 4ga a bit. and strip back the remote ~2" and fold it on top of itself (to make it fatter) then put it in there

ok cool thats what i did with the remote wire.. so i should be good with that.. just gotta find a good way to keep the power and remote 4 ga wire in the **** hole

trim it down to make it fit.
it pretty much does fit... i get it all in there and screw it down but no matter how hard i screw it down the wire slips out eventually.

when i strip the 4 ga wire for my power/gnd i twist it so it fits better.. is it a bad idea to twist it? because i was just thinking if i didnt twist it and just put it in normal it might get tangled with the screw and stay in.. would that be a better idea?

when you cut the jacket on the wire for the 4ga just take a razor blade or similar and roll and cur the jacket. then pull and turn the cut portion of the jacket clockwise. this will help twist/bend the frayed wires you speak of together to the main portion.

if you stick it in ther terminal and there are still strands sticking out don't worry. just tighten the terminal down then pull each of those frayed wires out. then take the razer and cut those strands off. that will leave you with a clean install.

i would take a pic of mine but i'm watching this porn right now and don't really want to pause it. the insansely hot brunet is fingering this one blonde. and the blonde is humping her hand back. tis wild.....

thats what i did and it keeps slipping out eventually =/.. but that was when i was messing around a lot with the amp.. now its mounted and shouldnt move... will it?

i also wanna know why my hifonics amp wont light up all the way

the lasers are weak and only the "HI" in "HIFONICS" lights up.. the power wire fell out once and touched the ground wire and made a spark.. im not sure if thats what caused my amp to stop lighting tho.. but the lights worked before that.. is it possible that those 2 touching blew some of the lights?

the hifonics still put out power? the grounding out killed the lights and maybe some other **** too.

and if you have enough wire in the hole + screw tightened as tight as possible, it shouldn't come out.
