can my subs hit harder than this?

I run the Kenwood radio 2 4" speakers 2 6x9 speakers 2 subs and a 1000 watt power series rockfordfosgate amp... other than that for power i have also an aftermarket tach no ac and its an auto and I listen to punk, rock, classic, metal and everynow and then rap

and I jus got done hooking a scosche 500k micro farad capacitor in my bass hit harder that it made new wire vibrate... but I drove down the rode and as soon as I pulled away from the stop sign I lost all bass again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I was sooo happy I thought all my problems were solved.. and now I'm going to start buying stuff for the big 3 upgrade and my bro is getting a bigger alternator... his current one jus so happens to be a 119 amp so that might solve my problems right? also my cousin pointed out when me and him wired it up for the lead power wire is a solid 8 gauge "house" wire and everything else is 8 guage audio wire. could that be a problem?

also when my car is running it has about 13. 75 on the capacitor and when I start going it goes up to 14, 15, and revved at 3,000 rpms it was around 16. is this good or bad?
