Can irregular-shaped enclosures be ported accurately?

Type Arghh is only good in some enclosure types... Not all types. If they offered it in different shapes it would appeal to a lot more customers.
Companies like Sony, MTX, Bazooka, quadrasub, etc understood the need and started producing subs of different shapes to meet customers needs.

true true, I wouldnt mind seeing a Triangle Type R. would probably take the world by storm and stand alone on top of the car audio world until they got smart and brought out a square.............

aero's would be the easiest to use for the port and also remember that this is NOT an exacting science, so you have some room for error...
