bypassing a stock amp

why werent you at the Ar meet, *****?!
lol you'll have to splice speaker wire from the h/u's amp to the speaker wires going to the speakers
dammit. that sounds hard lol. I wasn't at the ark meet because i had nothing to show off. my old system got sold. plus i think i was sick that morning. Will the current amp i have be worthless if i splice the wires? is there any other way to do that?

usually a stock stereo system with an external amp has no "h/u amp". what youll have to do is splice the input wires providing signal to the amp with the amp's output wires to the speakers. then u might as well junk the amp bc its just dead weight. thats what i had to do with my old RSX-S which had a bose system w/ external amp. its a pretty simple procedure, all u have to do is find an accurate wiring diagram

okay..i think i understand. here is a pic if this will help anyone.

slot 5 of C1(RR-) splices with slot 2 of C2(RR-)

slot 15 of C1(RR+) splices with slot 1 of C2(RR+)

then JUNK THAT AMP MAN, the one on the new HU is better

haha i forgot to add an "etc etc"

do that for what looks like, 6 speakers?

well just do that for wherever u can find a speaker on that diagram. which looks like 6

after a final look at the diagram tho, it looks like theres 4 speaker inputs and 6 speaker outputs making it appear that theres a crossover in the amp for the front components. so youll have to splice the FR input with both the FR output and right instrument panel output

****...how hard is it to splice wire?? what's the best way to do it?

go to ur local radioshack nd pick up 16awg wire crimps for 3bux. just strip 1/4" off of ur wires and insert into the crimps then clamp em tight. if u did it right ull have a solid connex very easily

so if the amp is worthless now, are the speakers going to be receiving all their power from the headunit?

thats it. good luck with the install man. once u get it started, it all seems soo simple. and your system will sound bttr than b4. when your done crimping, just make sure the new connections are safe. take some electrical tape and wrap em up or sumthing. i know in my RSX the amp was located under the passenger seat so they were in danger of being kicked
