burned up 2 type r 12"s last night

i just burn 2 of them up last night the 05 12" 4ohm. i have a 1000db block amp on both of them not even turned halfway up on the amp.

alpine won't warranty them cause i bought them online and not at a dealer. i only had them 2 months as well. what a waste. i went from expensive nitro r/c's to now breaking expensive audio gear. $220 + down the tubes.

they bumpin on the way home and just quit with no sound.

anyone need 2 paper weights? FREE

and my silly *** didn't buy the warranty. didn't think my amp would push them till death.

That pre fab sealed enclosure would be partly to blame for your burned coils, if the Alpines would have been in a nice custom ported box you would have never needed to push them that hard in order to get the desired output.

It sucks, but you live, you learn.

yes it awful. don't have alot of money and now this. happy new year to me uh. bought a sunroof for my car $200 and its broken. don't know if the guy is going to give me that back ither. it's been a few weeks since i got and returned the broken sunroof.

my little brotha Leerical Poet had 3 years of music i was trying to catch up on as i haven't seen him in 3 years and i went home for the holidays and got eveything he made in the past 3 years. straight bumpin till subs broke down. couldnt handle that memphis sound.

i did like the sealed sound becasue the bass was quick and responsive to slight adjustments..... they sounded good when i first got them and the more they got played the sorrier they got i geuss until the sorryness of them just went dead.

lemans23 what would you do with 2 burn up subs?

you really don't understand anything..do you? it would be the enclosure more than the speaker because the enclosure dictates how the woofer behaves. the sealed box would naturally have less output, so he drove them harder to reach the SPL levels that would have been achieveable with a ported alignment. so no, it isn't the speakers.
