Building a sub....

I just got a motor off a friend. Its a triple stack and weighs 30 pounds. I have a basket laying around And I know I can drill and tap it to fit the motor. its a 12" basket so I'm not sure if I wanna stick with it or get a bigger basket. I want to know how to change the specs with soft parts. What options do I have? LMK. Pics will be up in a few hours.

how big is the gap? all depends on what the motor is... if it's a 3" gap, then you've got lots of options. It all depends on what will fit in the gap, and what will sit correctly.

Or may a 3.3" gap?

There is a little more to it than throwing pieces together.

I want to try to build one some day. It seems pretty cost prohibitive to build on sub, but it would be able to do everything I ever wanted.

pics.
