Here it is guys. I got a brand new 07 4runner sport V8 this year for Christmas. As usual I have a summer internship that will me net me some decent bank. However, I have had an extremely hard time justifying putting any money into my car to my parents. I get the old "your car is fine, its better than most kids your age" (im 19 sophomore at college)

After some suggestions of an exhaust, rims etc....they have agreed to let me get an audio system. I have a 1-1.2k budget AT MOST including the cost of professional installation ($350 for install, and wiring harnesses) so that leaves me with a comfortable $800 -$900 for components.

What I want....something that gets the job done. I want it to thump and be loud. I love bass! Not competing loud however. I have no idea how car audio is related to home audio when my home theater receiver puts out 110W x 8 channels RMS. I see all these amps that are 40-70 watts RMS per channel and the initial though in my mind is wow they are weak.

What I would like you guys to do and why. Piece out a system that you would put into my car given my budget and desires. I don't have the time nor interest in diving into the abyss of car audio. If I learn too much I will buy things that I just don't need.

I will be keeping the stock HU

I dont want any extra batteries or a new alternator.

If you could just paste links of suggested builds that would be AMAZING!!

Thanks in advance guys and I hope that you understand where I am coming from.

P.S. I spoke to the local installer, he recommended memphis speakers. I have never heard of them..he says they are good. I think is said M class or something. I plan on getting this done two weeks from now after I get my next paycheck.

#1 you will need a line out converter.

#2 you will need RCAs for every amp you are going to have

#3 you will need 1/0 wire for your amps and grounds

#4 if you are going to have more than one amp get a distro

#5 don't go Memphis, the installer is just trying to get you to buy his stuff

I would post more, but I have to leave to go somewhere. I'll check back in later.

Well to start off with i think you should rethink keeping the stock hu. Try going for something not as expensive for now that way you still have money for amps, subs, componets, and what not. As for wire here is my suggestion.

Wire- http://knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?category=KLM%20Kable thats just for power wire. Heres for the rcas http://knukonceptz.com/productMaster.cfm?category=Karma%20SS%20RCA%20Kables

Now to start off with a decent HU- http://sonicelectronix.com/item_10751_Alpine+CDA-9884.html

as for componets, speakers inside the car these are some options.

oh i forgot the 4 channel amp or 2 which ever u want. i would just run the speakers off of the hu for now untill u have more money. but here are a few suggestions any ways. hope this helps, by the way some of the items can be found at other places cheaper that just happens to be a site i buy from frequently.

Wow that's really great. Thanks a lot!

Here is what I have found and will most likely purchase today!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=250252152348&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=015 Components for the front.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280231203454&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018 Coaxial for the rear.

Which amp do you recommend?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=290234258740&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=019 or this one http://cgi.ebay.com/INFINITY-REFERENCE-475a-CAR-AMPLIFIER-MONOBLOCK-REF-AMP_W0QQitemZ300227770509QQihZ020QQcategoryZ39739QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The main difference I see between the amps is that the JL one cuts back output at different voltage. Is this true for all amps?

Is the Infinity one louder?

Finally, do you recommend getting the wiring kits that you have there or use the installers $50 LOC and $90 amp wiring kit.

Thanks again guys!

Oh yea, I have no interest in changing HU now especially for one that is not double din.

I will be getting a Kenwood DNX8120 at a later date (christmas prolly) and feel no need to upgrade HU now.

Just forgot LOL...for subs Im prolly going to get 2 JL 12w3.

What kind of box should I get?

What amp that is not super high priced do you recommend that I get?

Thanks again guys!

Last set of questions. Im on knuknocetz website and going to get some wire. How many feet of 1/0 gauge wire 20?

How many RCA cables should I get and what length. Keep in mind I have a line out converter.

What about in line fuse? Battery terminal hookups?

Remote-on for amp? Do I even have one considering my stock HU has the amp built in?

Lastly, what about a line out converter? Which one do you recommend?

Im looking to save money over the 90 and 50 dollar amp and LOC converter the local installer wants to use?

So...what do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance!
