I'm putting together a budget setup for my friend. This is what I have so far:

Car- 2003 Grand Am GT

Wire- $68.98 Knukonceptz Kolossus 4 gauge

CD Player- $139.00 Pioneer DEH-P400UB (cheapest one i could find with 4volt outputs)

Box- Ported (didn't make the design yet, 2 cubes ported probably the biggest)

Sub- One 12 or 10 that does very well in 2 cubes

 

Amp- Thinking profile?

Looking for something like SSA (has sq and has spl potential if we wanted to please the crowd with a one sub setup) only on a cheaper level.

No..this is a discussion. I'm not buying anything I just need some ideas. I'll keep the CVR in mind though

As always, I'll recommend Mach5Audio for a great budget sub. I've also heard that profile amps are decent budget amps so you're on the right track there. You could probably manage both of those on your budget. Also always check the classifieds for deals.

for the amp, it just depends on the sub that you get that will determine what amp you get or vice versa. but IMO you'll need a higher budget unless you plan on buying used.

Yea for my next setup I was looking at the new rsdc's. Maybe i'll have him buy one 12" rsd and be one up one him in the future with 2 10" rsdc's and double the power lol

get a true 600wrms amp, headroom is nice

kicker and mtx amps were the ones I was looking at before I got my PA's

Basically..looking for nothing less than 500 but hoping to get around 600 rms
