build houses

ok so some company builds the the circuit boards and then a bunch of companies buy them and put them in different cases? then mone sell it for 500 and the others sell it for 250? or am i getting it wrong?
I imagine there are different levels of quality within a build house... so... pretty much, sundown amps are expensive and almost no one has any complaints about them... audiopipe amps are cheap and almost everybody has some kind of issue with them.

i have actually been looking for complaints on audiopipe amps im having a hard time finding them... at least for the ap15001d anyway are they made by the same build house as sundown?

The build house BUILDS the board, but they don't necessarily DESIGN it...I'm sure component quality and tolerances play a huge factor. Think about it, take a small capacitor for example. You could save money by getting a smaller one and running it at 95% of it's rated power or you could spend a little more and get one that can be run at 75% rated and will run cooler & last longer. I think that definitely plays a part in cost...

Cheap amps are easier to blow, that's my experience. Quality amps will survive more abuse.

God no.

You're statment is a complete over simplification of whats going on.

so they use the same boards but cheaper parts on the boards for the cheaper brands?

I didn't say that. I don't have intimate knowledge of the different amplifier brands on the market right now, I don't know how many of them use the same boards. You asked what the difference between a cheap amp and an expensive one was and implied it was simply whatever the manufacturer decides to price it at. I was explaining how component selection can affect price.
