build help!!!

1)

i have an 05 350z and there is a website that sells custom fiberglass box's to fit 3 10" subs(i love them). the "internal airspace is 2.55f^3, mono chamber" (and im guessing that this means 1 chamber instead of 3 individual---is that bad?) and the mounting depth is 7 inches.

2)

i think im going to go with three 10in kicker cvx dual 2 ohm subs. the subs claim to require 600rms and 1200 peak each. and the mounting depth is 6 5/8(so thats good) and they require a min of .8 cu. ft. to 3.0(does my box cut it?) do i need an amp that pumps at least 1800 rms? since there are 3- 600rms subs. or a single 600rms since the 3 will be wired together?

3) there are 3 and i looked up how to wire them on crutchfield and they say 3 dual 2 ohm subs wire to a total of 3 ohm----most amps i seen (and im a noob) only say 1 ohm, 2 ohm, 4 or 8!!! what is the amp i need to support 3 ohms mono and how many watts do i need? thank you!!

1.) A single chamber is fine as long as you're running a mono amplifier.

2.) The enclosure won't be perfect for the 3 subs. Pre-fab enclosures are never perfect.

3.) 3x 2 ohm DVC subs can be wired to 1.3 ohms, 3 ohms or 12 ohms. I'd use an amplifier that does 2,000 watts rms @ 1 ohms.

thanx for the help---ive heard that r. fosgate quality have gone to shit since they have been mass producing for bestbuy ect... what do u think about the power t2000.1 bd from them i believe its 2000 at 1 ohm. do u recommend any particular 2000watt amps?

should i consider different subs as well? help me out lol i got a total of 2.55 cu.ft. with 7" depth what would u go with?

RF amps are still nice quality. Some of their lower line stuff (ie, the stuff at BB) has suffered. That amp would be nice though if wanting 2000 at 1 ohm. The CVXs would be okay in that size enclosure, but there are likely better options for that amount of space. Maybe look at FI SSDs; they should like that space

I still like Rockford Fosgate amplifiers very much. You'll notice that nearly everyone on this forum hates mainstream equipment, and RF definitely falls into the mainstream category. Sometimes the hatred of mainstream equipment is justified, but sometimes it's anything but. In my opinion, the RF T2000.1bd is a pretty nice amp. It's a discontinued model, though. It shouldn't be as expensive as it once was.

And yes, you should always consider different equipment until you find something that suits your needs perfectly. Those Kicker subs aren't terrible by any means, but you can find better equipment at the same price. Your ultimate goal is to satisfy yourself, so look around as much as possible. By the way, Kicker falls into the same category as RF around these parts. They have their following, but they have their haters too.

You should visit each and every one of these websites before choosing your subwoofers.

The same advice applies to amplifiers as well. Most of the websites I linked offer very good amplifiers, so start your search there. If you don't see anything that appeals to you, stick with the T2000.1bd.

You should probably be told that you're going about this a$$ backwards. Building your sound system around subwoofers is bad enough, but you seem to be building around a flashy pre-fab enclosure. That's a big no-no. You headunit and front stage are of extreme importance. You should start there. Find the headunit you want, and then look for some high quality components for your front door, a-pillars or kick panels. Then you should move on to amplifiers before deciding on which subwoofers to run. You'll also want to learn about your vehicle's electrical system and buy enough sound deadener to suit your application.

everything said makes perfect sense misfit and while ive had some systems in the past, im still wayyyy noob! i know that you could have a badass sub, and amp and have a box that makes ur setup sound like shit as well as a bad *** box and subs with an amp that sounds like shit ect.. i think im going to go with the kenwood dnx-9140 unit (which should be pretty good) and i know that i want quality and loud but im not worried about competition so i expecting to give up some quality in the sub box to gain looks with the limited space i have in my 350z. i was looking around today and found a similar fiberglass box supposedly built around 3 jl audio 10w6v2 subs how good are they? and jl amps?

1 question that f*%ks my mind up is---

if i have three dual 4 ohm subs that are wired to a 2.7ohm load and require 600rms each all firing into the same chamber (i guess requiring them to all be powered by the same amp so that they dont compete with each other), how much power in a mono block amp do i need to be shopping for?????????

do i need one 600 watt amp since they will all be wired together?

if i do that will the 3 subs "split 600 watts" only getting 200 each--which is not good?

do i need 1800watts (600 each) even though they will be wired together?

if i do that will all three of them get 1800watts a-piece destroying them?

i dont understand how they get thier power i walked into a store one day where they had a wall of subs (about 16) and they were all powered by 1 itty-bitty little amp!!!?

i know im sounding like a noob but does four 200watt subs wired together require 800watts or 200 watts?lol thanks
