budget 4 channel vs higher end, is there a sound difference?

speaking of channel separation, what does it sound like? I feel like that's a lot of what I hear at high volumes.
Think about your dash. Picture guns and roses standing on it.

Picture Axel Rose under the rear view, drummer a bit closer to the hood, Slash in front of you, that other guy closer to the passenger A pillar. They are all separated but you can see the empty space between them.

thanks, that helps. it sounds like something you can never fully mitigate, but correct me if I'm wrong here; TA, DSP's, and good speaker placement are the best ways to prevent channel separation?

Okay maybe I'm still confused, wouldn't channel separation also consist of frequencies being/going places you don't want them? i.e. high frequencies from tweeters on axis down low making it sound like the stage is below you.

i need to read up on this some more, obviously

There is more that's involved with getting a stage. That's why I love my MS-8.. Does it for you

soooooooooooooo should i get a sq 90-4 and an alpine PHA-x800, a jl slash 350/4 and the x800, or a zapco dc-1004?
That alpine is really cool. You can draw a curve and it will auto EQ it. Still have to TA yourself though.

im thinking of pairing one those said setups with a hertz hsk 165xl set, how much did you pay for yours?

No. Channel separation is a spec for any audio component, head units, processors, or amplifiers. You cannot correct for it with processing. It is inherent in the equipment. Weakest link determines it.

ok maybe ill get it this time, third time lol. real world, how reliable are the specs put out by the manufacturer? I've heard a lot of these numbers are inaccurate or made up...

further, how important is it when purchasing an amplifier? is it something I should look for and that i would likely notice in SQ

if you know of any useful references i could read, i'd like to learn more.
