[broken sub] how does this happen?

I have seen this quite a few times with the RE SE and SX motors. Unfortunately if you want to realign it you will need to have it reconed as well. I have realigned a handful of these while charged. It is a pain but it can be done. Just need some strong epoxy or jb weld.

well if I fix it I'm sending it in, mainly because I want it to be redone stronger to handle 3-4kw burps. Are you able to make this broken sub stronger woofercooker?
