Bridging Issue with Sundown SA-12's

hmmm you should be able to just trim the wire down an twist an fit them in. im running Shok 8g for my speaker wires an it worked just fine.

I tried trimming but wasn't successful at all. I trimmed off a bunch of strands too. I just have no luck lol

get some heavy duty banana plugs..
got 4 gauge into these ones easily lol

or several of the above suggested ideas would work. Try using a little bit of soldering Flux next time you try and solder bigish wire like that 12 gauge knu. Use a high quality iron, or small torch for best results. Trimming the wire and twisting like you've tried to do is another easily done options as well.

**** those plugs are nuts. Where'd you get them? lol. I have some rinky dink plugs. As far as my torch, it's a Bernzomatic mini torch. It works soooo much better than my wireless soldering iron. I wasn't able to do a thing with it. lol.

**** dude that's a decent torch for sure, you couldn't get it to go at all? what kiinda solder are you using? you using flux? I find flux to be VERY help full when torch soldering big 1/0 terminal lugs and ****.

I know that's why I was surprised as well. haha. I'm using this solder exactly. Bernzomatic 4 oz. Leaded Solid Wire Solder-327789 at The Home Depot. I soldered my ring terminal onto my 4 gauge with that torch with no issues at all. The best part is, I just started soldering too. Haha. I got a nice pool into the terminal after a few seconds with the torch. Works really great. It was only $10 too. My crappy Weller wireless soldering iron was more than that. Best thing I've bought in a while too haha. When I tried soldering the copper itself, the solder balled up. And if I kept heat on it, it would fall off completely. I didn't understand so I just gave up. haha

So if I get those plugs, I could twist the wire and insert it with no issues?

yeah man I got two twisted up 12 gauge stinger wires in mine easily lol.

YOU USING FLUX? sometimes I really NEED it for my knu wire when doing terminals. it's insane how much it can help man, just ***** the solder right into the wire.

Well, I know what my next purchase will be now. haha.

I guess not. I might have to take a ride over to the depot as much as I hate to. I work in a hardware store but I don't believe I have what I need here. My torch is amazing though. All I want to do is solder now. I used to use wire nuts when I did installs. Incredibly unreliable. That was before I knew how to solder. I did my friends 06 G35 Coupe. It came out perfect though. Looks factory actually. Haha. But anyway, I guess I'll order the plugs later and off to the depot I go after work. Oh well. Gotta pay to play.

Trim a lil of the width off the wire

I used 10 gauge power wire that I had. Got a box of wire in on a trade and I didn't want to use the 18 gauge wire that was in that box

UPDATE

Plugs are here and everything is wired up and bridged. The only thing is that the multimeter is reading 1.7-1.8 ohms. Is that bad? It got as low as 1.5 ohms though. So it kinda fluctuates. But other than that, the banana plugs worked beautifully. Thank you for the tip Jerhemy. You saved me a lot of money and time.
