barely stiff compared to other subs before and after break inI noticed.. that the surround is VERY stiff at first, and gets much softer as they are played more..
NOT sure if this means anything at all, just an observation..

That will sound like shit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gifyou guys think a pair of 12s R can handle a hifonics 2008D probably give them 750 each. and is a 3.5 cubes box tuned to 32 good? thats all i can fit after sub and port displacement?
box to small? That will sound like shit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Ummm.... no, no it won't. The two will be louder, by at least 3 dB -- probably more when you figure in how much power compression a single R getting 800W will be suffering from.Just giving that 800rms to ONE of them will get louder than two on that power. Type R's are nice, they just like a lot of powa.

Squeak said it better than I could... http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4513850&postcount=38
i'm going to try it and see what happens. if they don't sound good ill build another box.Lol... Two on 750w each in a 3.5cf box won't get as loud as one in a 2.5cf box with 1000w... Well maybe it will get as loud, but it will sound super shitty.
But on the note of them liking a lot of power.. They really need about 1000w, otherwise they sound under worked.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif
Hey, wow... the Hype R's defy the laws of physics... maybe I'll have to get me some... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gifLol... Umm, wtf are you talking about?? How am I talking about R's defying the law of physics??? All I said was that 3.5 cf will suffocate them and cause them to sound like shit.Hey, wow... the Hype R's defy the laws of physics... maybe I'll have to get me some... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
BTW, can you elaborate on what quality a subwoofer displays when it 'sounds under worked'? LMFAO... that's almost sig worthy...
OK, do the math with me now...They really liven up once you give them about 1000w. As in, it's much quieter only giving it 100 or 200w less
OK, do the math with me now...
(new power / old power)log*10 = change in dB (before accounting for compression)
(1000 / 800)log*10 = .96 dB
(1000 / 900)log*10 = .46 dB
Any of those differences are going to be BARELY AUDIBLE -- especially after compression rears its ugly head.
Any subwoofer is going to sound better with LESS power, not more power. If you like the way it sounds with MORE power, then you like the sound of distortion.
