Box Design Question

I am trying to build a box for my Kicker CompVX, and want it to have 2 ports. According to mobileinformationlabs(dot)com, my port length needs to be 26.34" (Slot ported). Does this mean each of the ports needs to be 26.34" or just both port lengths combined?

Thanks

This is what I came up with, external dimensions are 15.25"x32"x14", ports are 1" wide, 12.5" tall, and 26" long which makes the box tuned to a little over 32Hz, and giving the total volume just under the maximum kicker recommends...

Does this look correct? If you have time, could you do calculations for me to double check my math?

Thanks!

How about this design? I want it to look interesting, as well as perform well. Box has a 2.5" port and is tuned to 32Hz

Let me know, thanks

I can make you a box that looks interesting.. Haha.

Youd be better off placing the port on the bottom as the floor will act something as an extension to the port. Its better to do one single port as your two ports are a bit too skinny to be on the safe side, at least in my opinion.

But I need the port to be higher because my golf clubs are usually in my trunk too... Thats why I only have 1 sub is so I have some trunk space haha

Nothing wrong with that IMO. I'd avoid very narrow port if possible.
Is 2.5" too narrow? And is there a way to split the port in half, so that on the inside instead of the port being directly behind the sub in both directions?

What he means is that having a very wide but narrow port can create some port noise. When dealing with smaller setups like this a general rule of thumb is 1:8 for a minimum of port width:height ratio to avoid any port noise. Of course port noise will occur at different frequencies based on the box tuning. I.e. you can get away with a narrow port if your tuned higher but if you plan on tuning to like 28hz you will most likely hear some port noise...
