Box design for 2 alpine type R 12

I don’t know if I am posting this right. Haven’t ever posted to a forum before. I have 2 Alpine Type R 12’s. They are ran off a Planet Audio PL4000.1D amp at 2 ohms. I need a new box as I think the one I have is inadequate. Any ideas or suggestions? It is in the trunk of a 1996 Dodge Intrepid. I listen to rock and rap music. I want it loud! Lol. Thanks for any help!

well #1 we will try to talk u into buying a better amp.. can u make a box or do u have to buy one? if u can make one someone can get u ca design i think @shredder2 has already done one for type R's.. if u have to buy one how much can u spend? because with shipping on a proper sized dual 12 box ain't cheap..

If OP can build... and it'll fit... I MIGHT have something that should match well with a 2Kish amp IIRC

It's not overly big or decaf tuned... but I'll bet it'll do pretty good.

Thank you for your help. I can build my box I just don’t know how to come up with specs. And I know I would be better off with a bigger name amp, but the one I have is pushing the heck out of the subs already so until it goes out I won’t really have $300 or so for a better amp. Size is not really a concern, this intrepid has a HUGE trunk! I have them in a pretty large slot ported box now and honestly could fit another one back there. They are banging really really hard right now, but I’m the type that always wants to improve and get the most I can out of my system.

I would do 4-4.5 cubes @ 32 hz, 12 in^2 per cube.
