Both 2ohm and 4ohm load on a 4 ch??

I have never really thought about it, but is it possible to run 2ohm speakers on 2 channels and 4ohm speakers on 2channels of the same 4 channel amplifier? I am trying to run like IDcx62's(2ohm) and CDT tw24s(4ohm). I wouldnt mind putting like 100rms to the cx65s and 50rms to the tw24s and there are a lot of 4 ch. amps that do that.

Edit: I think this is pretty much just a yes or no quesiton... haha

many people use 2 channels for front end and bridge the other two for subs!

Make sure those are 2 ohm, not sure if those are 4 or 2 ohm version of ID's

I dont trust you for some reason.... i think mainly because they are 2ohm mids....

Is your amplifier 2 ohm stable?

If so, you shouldn't have a problem running two channels @ 4 ohms each and two channels @ 2 ohms each.

If it isn't 2 ohm stable, well, don't do it!

i think where shaneb got confused at is that you said ID CX65 when the correct model is the ID cx62 for the 6.5" two ohm version compared to the ID CX64 which is the four ohm version. and shane is thinkin of the ctx65cs. which are 4 ohm version only. if your amp is 2 ohm stable stereo then yes you can do it.

I will be doing the same thing when I finish running new speaker wires for inside speaker. I aheva pair of CDT 4ohms and a pair of Infinity 2 ohms that is going to be pushed by a alpine 4.150.
