Just keep in mind all of the crunch amps are rated for PEAK power output, make sure to look for the RMS specs and expect around there, maybe a tad less depending on electrical cause I do believe they are rated at 14.4V

The only crunch who's name is rated based upon it's RMS is the GP3K if I recall.

For the price, they aren't bad.

If you can look at other brands, I would recommend looking into the Audiopipe APxxxx.1 amps though if you're looking for bang for the buck. The AQ's have great value too for the power.

The AP 15001D (1500w RMS at 1ohm) can be had for around $150-$160 shipped and is a solid amp.

But, if your only choices are Boss v. Crunch, I say go with Crunch.

This is correct only rms rated is the GP3k pro and the AP1500D is THE perfect budget amp IMO... did an install on a 12" Q and this thing for 146 shipped or whatever he payed was really giving the Q some work

Who really freakin cares if an amp says Max wattage or RMS wattage. Same ordeal when people complain on whether something is built in the USA or in China. Who cares. Learn to read a little better. The GPV 2000.1 will put out 1000 Watts RMS period. They have unregulated power supplies so the more voltage you give them, the more power they produce. However, when you turn the car off (less voltage) they only put out around 800 Watts RMS.

It's retardation to compare a 750 watt RMS Crunch amp to a 1500 watt RMS amp. Use a little common sense and learn to pay attention to detail such as reading the amplifiers specs.

i'm still looking to find the Zed designed Boss amp for sale somewhere.

In general I would avoid either brand. If you HAVE to choose between those two, Crunch.

I have a total of 5 Lanzar Opti 1000.1D Zed Designed here at my shop. They are all needing repairs, but I have the parts, just haven't gotten around to doing them yet. I was selling them for $200-$250 each. They are really heavy little suckers, very adequate heatsink, nice PCB and layout. They were designed by Zed and sold like back in 2000-2001ish I think. Older black and silver models. I know Zed did design some BOSS Audio amps back in the 90's I think, not sure which models. Stephen Mantz (Zed Audio) is usually on these forums somewhere, he just hardly ever pops up. He might have some to sell you if you contact him. I personally haven't heard from him in a while though.

i had a boss amp that a friend gave me it was a "600 watt" i powered 1 kicker comp wired up to 4 ohms and the amp quit 2 weeks later
