Boss or Crunch Amplifier?

crunch all the way... bad rep solid amps.. especially the gp3k pros //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Somewhat...

Just keep in mind all of the crunch amps are rated for PEAK power output, make sure to look for the RMS specs and expect around there, maybe a tad less depending on electrical cause I do believe they are rated at 14.4V

The only crunch who's name is rated based upon it's RMS is the GP3K if I recall.

For the price, they aren't bad.

If you can look at other brands, I would recommend looking into the Audiopipe APxxxx.1 amps though if you're looking for bang for the buck. The AQ's have great value too for the power.

The AP 15001D (1500w RMS at 1ohm) can be had for around $150-$160 shipped and is a solid amp.

But, if your only choices are Boss v. Crunch, I say go with Crunch.

Oh, and lol at Ekim vs. Sicaudio again, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/hilarious.gif.02a037aad04aa96f19982b298a3d70a8.gif

I was going to suggest Audiopipe as well i've seen crunch amps (1500) and an audiopipe, and the AP preformed better.

Yeah, this is because the Crunch P1500 is rated at 1500w MAXX, and it probably delivers about 650-800 RMS.

Same goes for the older ground pounder 1500's I believe. There is no new GPV 1500w amp, just the GPV2000, which is rated 2000w MAXX, about 1k RMS.

The AP 1500.1D is actually rated at 1500 RMS, and puts it out well.

I have a little BOSS amp here that a local guy wanted fixed, it says "3600 Watts" on it but the guts are 800 watt.

go with the Crunch.

//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif yeah, a friend of mine had a BOSS "5000w" amp. It was about the same size as my 600w amp I use on tweeters. While I know class A/B and Class D amps are different technologies, no way a 5K amp that is not Stetsom/SounDigital is going to be that small, lol. Not to mention with full gain and everything it was barely moving the RE SE I sold him. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
