I know most everyone on here bashes Boss Audio all the time? Are any of their products decent? Has anyone ever heard any of their subs? I am just wondering, I was thinking of getting a few of their subs just to do a project with for fun this summer. Do any of their subs actually sound good or hit hard? Just wanting to see if anyone has ever used any or heard any.

One of my cousin's friends gave him 2 Boss 10" subs in a sealed enclosure and he said they sounded pretty good and hit fairly hard...

Let me know you all's opinions on their sq or spl. Let me know if they ahve any models that actually sound pretty good. thanks.

You can post opinions on any of their products (but mostly their subs and amps). Has anyone ever benched one of their amps to see what the actual output is?

if you want to try something not many people run. Get a few of the powerbass subs even the lower line like the B series. They are cheap and VERY good. I had a pair for a temp my brother got and wanted to hear them. I threw them in a sealed box (2 12's) off 300 a pop and they had more sq and got just as loud as a comp vr 12 or a alpine type R and there like the price of 1 of those subs. I cant say enough great stuff about them and there price. I am going to run my componets as pB's just to check them out and would love to try there extremes out if I can sell my sx.

I have a Boss RipD3 amp right now that is powering an audiobahn immortal which is 2250 watts rms and it makes it hit pretty dang hard. I have a 97' 4runner and it is pretty dang loud, of course I dont really have any systems to compare it to. I also wanted to see if anyone has ever benched one of these amps to see how much power it actually puts out, because they would be extremely good amps for the money if they put out close to their recommended power. Profile is extremely cheap and most people say they put out rated power...

I heard an old Boss Riot series 10" and i think it sounded the same as MA Audio's XE line. This was about 2 years ago, but it was rated to handle 250wrms and it reached full xmax with only about 100wrms in a small sealed enclosure. In my opinion, they're for anyone tht just wants some cheap (understatement) "thump in the trunk".

Has anyone ever benched one of their amps to see what the actual output is?
I still have a 2year old Riot series thats rated at 250w max. Assuming 125w is the rms its overrated by about 35 watts.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif There was also a noticeable increase in the sound quality when I finally upgraded to the Cadence amp I have now.

I've heard their amps. Nothing special, probably overrated.

The rear fill I took out of my car was SoundStorm Labs, which I think is to Boss as SPL is to Power Acoustik. They weren't bad but they weren't good enough to keep.

Ok, let's do some math involving fuses. The Boss D3 is rated at 3000 watts. Peak or whatever, I don't know. It has 3 30 amp fuses, allowing for a constant power drow of 90 amps. We can make one of 3 assumptions about a power rating of 3 kilowatts:

1. It's rated at 33.3 volts

2. 3000 is a highly exaggerated (sp) peak power rating

3. It's nearly 300% efficient at 12 volts.

I have no idea what you are saying...
anyone else got some opinions...?

He's trying to say your amp is a peice of sh-t.

Seriously though Boss is way overrated.

I had some boss speakers in my last car. I just wanted something cheap and sense I wasn't going to amp them I didn't need anything better.

They sounded ok. The 4x6's distorted too easily untill I bought a small cap for each to bring the frequency cutoff a little higher. After that they sounded better, but the tweeters were still "tinny". The 6x9's didn't put out a whole lot of lower frequencies as others that size and sounded about the same as the 4x6's. They were good temperary, really cheap speakers I guess.

Trying to rate an amps output based on fuse sizes is a really, really bad way to go about it.

EDIT: Ok, the I agree smiley is supposed to be agreeing with Jmac. With no post above mine, it doesn't really make much sense......LOL
