Alright, so I'm about to install a new stereo into my boat (19.5ft open bow). I have an older (used to be top of the line) Clarion 9375R HU that I'm going to use for now. I'm thinking 4 speakers, and then either a single or pair of 10's or 12's.
The front 4 will either be coax or components. I liked what I had heard briefly out of the cheaper Infinity 6.5 coax (6012I I believe). I'd say budget of $150 - $200 for the front 4 speakers.
Sub(s)... I'm open to any suggestions here. Lets say, either a single 12" or dual 10" right now. Apparently boats are tough for subs, due to the open air. I've been told by one person to mount a pair of subs freeair in the engine compartment (Kicker C12's). Another friend had three 12's, all in sealed boxes, in the engine compartment and the bass was plentiful as well, so install suggestions would be appreciated too. I'll budget $100 - $150 for sub(s), not including enclosures, I'll build those when the time comes.
Amp(s)... either a single 5 channel or 2 separate amps, one for the front 4 and one for the sub(s). So far I've thought about the Orion 7005 (5 ch) or the Orion 4002 + 4004 combo. I'll max the budget at $200 for amp(s).
