So is 2-12s in an suv a big waste too? The OP wants 12s and it's hard to fit anything bigger than 12s in an s10 or ranger's bed unless you fire them up or down in a 4th order.
I like where your headed with this setup man...it should get nice and loud.
1) design your box first
-search around to see what 12'' BTLs like for airspace and used 16'' in of port per cubic foot or maybe more depending on how your box is setup
2) your cut will depend on your box size
-if your box is 15'' tall x 40'' wide for example, your cut can be 35'' wide by 12'' tall since you plan on angling the baffles in towards each other
3) cut the bed side first...I had the cab-side cut first and it ended up being a little lower than the bed, which was my mistake.
4) after you cut the bed-side, drill a little hole at all 4 corners of the cut from the bed-side...this will transfer the corners into the cab-side
5) cut the cab
6) put the accordion boot on using 3m weatherstripping adhesive
7) caulk around it to be safe
