Blowing Sub

Type-R is brand new just started working it at about volume 35 of 40.

and i smell a little buring stench BUT NO the sub isnt scratching when i press it and the sub seems more flexible not so stiff.

ove time yes. it should sound louder because the spider has loosend up some. you might b warming that voicecoil up to much. clipping the amp maybe?

New subs will usually smell when you start playing them. It's perfectly normal to smell some coils the first week or so. There is usually excess glue on the voice coil that burns away when you first play it.

That is the perfect spot to do that. OEM sub may interfere with the new one and cause cancellation.

You can pull that amplifier and take to an Audio shop and see if they will test it. Most shops charge very little and some will not even charge...

Sounds like a bad ground or wiring problem on the 12v+ side.
