Ever Wondered WHY...

Like all of you on here I take alot of pride in my system. Ever since I put my upgraded bass and high on layaway, I get in my car and ask myself why am I doing this. My system sounds so good now and I am spending another 585.00 + on it humm. My sister just recently heard it because we live 100 miles from each other and she was just floored. Like being in a concert hall. LOL I just bought Rush 2112 cd and it sounded amazing, just lacking a little bass. When my friends are telling me this, I am thinking there are people on this forum who can put my system to shame, and thats fine with me. In just a couple of weeks the upgrade will be paid for and installed. I can't even fathom what this thing will sound like. So why do we keep reaching for the stars. I'm not in competition with anyone, so I don't even know myself. Upgraded system goes as the following:

2001 Hundi Elantra 4 door

Head Unit: Kenwood Excelon KDC-X589

Front Stage: Polk Momo's 6.5 coax

Polk Audio db1000 1' tweeters

Rear Doors: Alpine 6.5 type S coax

Rear Fill: Alpine 6x9 type S triax

Speaker Amp: Infinity Ref 7541a 4 channel running at 2 ohms

Sub Amp: Alpine MRP-M650 mono block

Sub: Alpine 12' type R in vented box ( coustom box comming soon)

pull out the rear speakers...Get an active xover.....Get a different sub and amp...If there is very little to install, then doing it yourself shouldnt be an issue..
um... why? those are both quality peices of equipment... and if he likes it, there is more of a reason to keep it...

secondly, this thread isn't about HIS equipment, it is about why we feel the need to constantly upgrade

because car audio's all about tradeoffs

and no matter how satisfied you are, you can't help but wonder what tiny edge you could get with that 'other' equipment you heard about.

not to mention most shops don't have the high end gear setup on display, so the only way to audition most of it is to go balls out and throw down for it

every rush recording i have ever heard is 'lacking in bass', compared to rap cds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif, i do it because i cant listen to music REALLY loud with the bass kicking at home, i would piss all the neibours off.......and i love loud music......with the bass kicking.

X2, you know what would help that though? Not being on this forum...

like thats gonna stop me...

Thats what blew me away about this is when people started talkiing about what to do with my stuff instead of the real question at hand. It 's not about if you like rear fill or not, it is about the need of upgrading a system that is already good or very good in the first place.
