Blew my HDC3 in under 30 min

The "drop in" test has no valid point other then sub A was louder then sub B in that exact application/situation. Means nothing outside of that test.
Also AB softparts are not much if any better. Same build house, same materials.
yea i know they look pretty identical. just making a point that the soft parts are not very good lol.

yep... had to brace the shiz out of it...

If that's what you are referring to as "port noise"
no im referring to the edges of your port creating noise from the design of it. Oh, and why didn't you use allthread and birch wood....would of costed less and weighed less and would of been just as strong.

Would it help if I took a router to round over the edges?

not much, its a design fail on your part my friend. sorry.

I always say never build a wall unless you have someone whom has done it before with you so they can bitch and moan and keep you in line.
I think he is saying that your port width to length ratio is not close enough to a 1:1 ratio

The SPL port should have been built into the wall with the daily port sliding into the spl port.

I would suggest rounding the corners over ,but you can do that will 80 grit to save your router bit. Shouldn't really have any port noise, down side is we won't know unless you get it braced up and nice a rigid. Other wise any vibration you may see/hear will be hard to track down.

He just wanted a loud daily setup not really for metering.

ah, well I saw that he was in WI and that's MECA territory so you kind of want to build pressure in either the drivers or passenger head area, and this port design wouldn't accomodate either well, but would work for DBDrag or IASCA.

Indeed, he is also very limited on space so getting the port area he needed while having room to mount the subs was just about impossible in any other design. It didn't help that it was designed to be double walled and ended up being single with minimal bracing lol. I could imagine that thing looks like it is breathing when it is playing haha.
