Blew my HDC3 in under 30 min

no im referring to the edges of your port creating noise from the design of it. Oh, and why didn't you use allthread and birch wood....would of costed less and weighed less and would of been just as strong.

i know allthread works but i dont see how tho. i was thinking about getting some and adding it to my box, or double plating it. i have 2x4's on the inside already also the inside of my box has been fiber glassed(well just the resin to slicken it and i guess it adds strenth as well)... i want to see a vid when you gete the C4's tho. ill be happy whne i reach a 150 with mine singe hdc3

i got mine from wal-mart lol. i believe it was like $10 or so, $13.xx total including paint brushes lol

He's got USACI, DbDrag, and Iasca in his area, plus Real SPL: burp at 30/40/50Hz. And if you don't like burps then bass racing is the thing to do.

I'd save the money on resin, total waste of time for panels that big, even with a lot of matt. Add pieces on the outside of the box where you can. Is the box double baffle as HDC4's are 70#'s each. I would not hang those off a single baffle.

Also plan on more power as 2400watts won't push them very hard.

Will you be at Regionals in Oshkosh next month? Would like to check out your build....I run HDC4's also, solid subs.

Thanks for the info. I'll brace/double the shiz out of it. I can get about 4-4.5k out of my amp... That should be enough to move those speakers.

So they ended up refunding me less 20% cause they couldn't find a problem. Sub was definitely blown...


Funny thing is that they sent me an aluminum coil. So I clearly didn't over power the sub... lol

Alum coil in those applications do not increase power handling enough to even mention. All they do is raise the FS a tad over the copper version.

I'm glad that they worked with you though, that is pretty uncommon.

Hard telling to be honest. I'm not sure who they could have in the customer service area anymore that knows anything.

Yea, I know what he says. As long as it works for him then that works for him. As long as he does not try to help my clients with what he "thinks" is correct we will be good. As for everyone else..that is on them to get corrected. After Shawn left he is the "got to guy" there now. I think Kevin is great with customer service, just not with much on the tech side.

On the plus side Kevin could more then likely out run anyone here. That guy is a machine when it comes to running. Marathons and all that...smh he can have that though lol.
