Let me specify... less then 30min total play time
Finished my wall this weekend and it wasn't sounding right because of all the dam flex. Could only go 3/4 all the way around except the front which was an extra 1/2.
Anyway, My buddy came over and helped me finish the extra bracing and I was very surprised by the results.
We made sure the amp was only putting out about 2400watts and I kept my volume 3 levels under clipping. Everything was sounding great

Couple of tracks later and first the smell... We turned it off, checked the coil... Seemed OK until we fired it up again. Nice little scratchy sound on low levels.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

The old one still works great.. lol.
Before I started this build I asked the rep if using an old model HDC3 and a new would be fine. I guess not.
From the rep:
"Simeon they will work perfectly together as a pair. The coil and motor were just re-engineered a little. The only reason to buy another is if you want them to match physically, mechanically though they perform the same."
My only hope at this point is that they will give me credit if I buy two HDC4's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif
