My ford explorer has had ZERO major problems, EVER and it has 289k miles on it and it still going. (1994) It's 4x4 too, which normally tend to go to shit quicker from what i've noticed. Just something to think about though.

I'd recommend a ford explorer obviously. They come with v8s and v6s so they have plenty of options, and you can find one for cheap easily. It sure as hell isn't quick, but it's not the slowest suv on the road.

i had an explorer, and with 79k miles it had no probs at all. we just took good care of it.
As did we, we serviced it when it needed servicing. BUT that was only in the first 150k, after that, it's whenever we felt like it as we expected it to die, but it just will not die //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

eh, to all of them. im really worried about the power of the pathfinders and 4runners now. **** imports

Is this a coincidence or is the ****** out of your blazer? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gif
yeha i know. but it is really uncommon for a ***** to go in a blazer this early. gm has some pretty solid drivetrains, its just everything else that sucks on them.

What are you doing with your SUV that your Worried about Power?

Like all of the import SUVs will get on the freeway fine. I wouldnt Suggest taking them out on some rough trail, but around town they should be fine.

There are Easy Upgrades to Gain Minimal amounts Of Power (intake Upgrades/Exhaust Upgrades, SuperCharger if you want to drop cash into it later)

Also Remember the Import SUVs are going to be a Lot Lighter than the American ones. Alum Engine/Frame vs. Steel

i guess maybe im not necessarily against mopar. ive only ever owned a neon (beater car), so i dont have any experience with them. but i noticed....why do ALL and i mean ALL mechanics drive mopar? are they like just amazing or something? i dont think ive ever met a mechanic that doesnt own a ram or durango, or caravan, or intrepid. wtf is that about? btw, durangos are so hideous that i dont think i could ever buy one

I suppose I maintain my vehicles better than most people. I flushed the ****** at last three times after I bought it, used Seafoam Transtune on every change. By the third change (at the normal interval metal wear inside the ****** was almost nil. I also ran a synthetic blend of oil with regular checkups and 1/4 quart of Marvels Mystery oil put in at 2500 on the oil change to flush her out. Motor looks almost new inside. My granpa is driving it right now it has 195k on it.
