Bigrick31's 00 CVPI build

Just about done with the exhaust. There is one rubber isolator on the cross member, but I need to wait until I build the strut rods for the rear axle (waiting on parts still) before I make hangers for the tips. I want to turn them out towards the wheels as much as possible, but I need to get the strut rods built first.

It's gonna be loud. Went from 1 3/4 tube with flat spots in it and massive mufflers, to 2.5" all the way out with what is basically a glass pack.

Sweet, glad to see life in this build again, //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif and yea thats going to be one loud mofo.

Are those LMIs or LMIIs? LOL that's going to take the sleeper effect away for SURE! I say find a wrecked Mach 1 and pull the engine. Build it up, maybe stroke it. Then add TT kit and built 4R70 and you'll have one mean show car. You'll be making a lot more power than a stock GT500 crate motor and the TTs will get you noticed at the shows...

They are the LMII's Ive heard a few on youtube they sound mean! cant wait to hear them on my car. This car isnt just for show it will be my daily driver so whatever i do with the motor and ****** i need to make sure its reliable for daily use.

The LMIIs sound awesome on the 2v. My buddy has an 03 GT with the SLP catted Xpipe and LMIIs and it sounds perfect. Mean and loud but not as raspy as the LMIs. I see you have an Hpipe...I'd really recommend the sound of an Xpipe with the straight through mufflers; sounds much better IMO. And for a DD, maybe try and find a wrecked 05+ GT and pull the 3v and 5spd auto out just to be different. Depending on your gearing you could have pretty decent mileage. Slap a FRPP Whipple or Saleen blower on; maybe even that new Edelbrock supercharger that makes like 475ish hp with only 5 lbs of boost! IDK just throwing stuff out there....

We were originally going to go with an x pipe however the x pipe would cause me a lot of problems with maintenance. Like if i even needed to service the transmission i would have to drop the whole exhaust in order to do so. thats why i reluctantly went with the h pipe it has a big enough opening that i can say drop the ****** and leave the exhaust in place.

Built strut rods. Getting some time in with the new MIG welder. Car is completely wired and plumbed, aside from the front two air lines. Strut rod mounts on the axle also act as a brace.

Built front bump stops to limit the down travel. Also had to cut a hump off the oil pan and shorten the pickup tube to keep the pan off the ground.

And a couple pictures taken right after it went on it's first test drive.

My buddy put 26 hours straight into this car to get it ready for the show. I picked it up on Friday and drove it 300 miles to the show. Everything went smooth. A few things need to be changed/fixed The first issue was that we have to raise the drive shaft tunnel when your at a stop and you step on the gas the drive shaft comes up and hits the floor of the car a little. I need 1.5" wheel spaces in the front of the car right now i have to do 2 point turns to get into parking spots because my wheels hit the shocks on the car so hopefully wheels spaces will give me a much better turning radius. The last thing is that one of my dump valves leak. WE have to send it back and get a new one. every 2 minutes i have to put air back in the rear passenger side air bag. Other than that the car made the 600 mile trip no problem!
